MILLIONAIRES IN TRAINING (MiT) YOUTH ENTREPRENEURIAL PROGRAM HOSTS FALL 2007 GRADUATION CEREMONY, DEC. 12

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Millionaires in Training (MiT) youth entrepreneurial program is holding its 2007 fall graduation ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the downtown Sheraton Raleigh Hotel. The program will consist of 21 graduates from the three existing chapters: downtown Raleigh (main), Mary E. Phillips High School (Raleigh); and Riley Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center (Wendell, N.C.). Every semester, the MiT students establish and manage their own businesses and develop business plans to support their ideas. The 2007 fall graduates’ businesses range from fashion retail to construction/real estate, and their product ideas range from designer fashions to a telescope that will have an integrated laptop computer with MP3 capabilities.

Matthew Moore Jr., executive director of the MiT program, said, “This has been an exciting and challenging fall semester, and I am looking forward to the spring semester and the future plans we have for the program. I cannot stress enough the importance of this program, and the reward of assisting these future business leaders in setting their goals and discovering their entrepreneurial spirit.”

Founded in October 2004 by local businesswoman V.K. Fields, the Millionaires in Training program is an entrepreneurial training and development program specifically targeted to adolescent boys and girls (12-15 yrs.). The program’s overall objective is to prepare and train future entrepreneurs for the professional workforce and introduce them to basic business concepts through the development of mock businesses, professional networking opportunities, field trips, and in-house computer training and business seminars presented by successful business leaders.
