In the inaugural Spring 2005 semester, the MiT program targeted adolescent girls 12-15 years old, but due to the program's success and demand from the local community, the MiT program has expanded and now includes a similar business training curriculum for adolescent boys. The program consists of 15 to 20 weekly sessions that offer a different aspect of business and entrepreneurship training to the future business owners. Young participants analyze their strengths and create their own in-house company to produce, market, and distribute a product or service. Since its inception, the program has graduated five semesters of business teams and is currently preparing for the sixth semester of student business leaders. Upon successful completion and graduation from the MiT program, participants will receive Entrepreneurial Certification and an opportunity to intern or gain professional work or mentoring experience during the summer at a local business or organization.
